About the Accreditation

The Chemical Engineering Bachelor of Science program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET,  www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Program Criteria for Chemical, Biochemical, Biomolecular and Similarly Named Engineering Programs.

ABET Program Criteria for Chemical, Biochemical, Biomolecular, and SImilarly Named Engineering Programs

(Lead Society: American Institute of Chemical Engineers)

1. Curriculum

The curriculum must include:

a) Applications of mathematics, including differential equations and statistics to engineering problems.

b) College-level chemistry and physics courses, with some at an advanced level, as appropriate to the objectives of the program.

c) Engineering application of these sciences to the design, analysis, and control of processes, including the hazards associated with these processes.
