To enable a course page:

By default, courses will be visible to instructors assigned by the department, but the course pages are disabled.

1. log onto angel.msu.edu.

2. click the course name. You must be listed as the instructor for a course in order for it to appear on your system, and make sure that the display is not disabled by checking the flags at 'My Page>My Angel Courses>(click the gear icon in the My Courses Banner)'. If you don't see the course listed, verify with the office staff that you are the listed instructor for the course.

3. Once you have entered your course, you don't need to learn about everything in order to begin to use the site. Click the 'Tools' tab.

4. Look for 'Course Settings' and click 'General course Settings'. Establish the desired start and end dates so that the class roster will have access to the site.

5. You can turn off the unneeded web page tabs by going to 'Tools' and using 'Course Settings>Tab Settings'. You will want to control access in the 'Tools>General Course Settings'.

6. Upload course content to the 'Lessons' area; most of the links are pretty intuitive. See 'Angel help>Faculty tab>Online Documentation(Read more...)>Lessons Tab. The help includes information on how to upload using zip files for uploading web content that includes lots of files (powerpoint web presentations, etc.).

7. Inform the students to log into 'angel.msu.edu' in order to access the site. They will be able to see the course if you have properly set the permissions in step 5.

To add an instructor, TA or guest to a course page:

1. perform steps 1 and 2 from above.

2. click the 'class' tab.

3. click 'edit roster'.

4. click 'add a user'. Then you can enter a username into the search window and assign the title and rights for the user. Use the online help for clarification of the rights.
