Advanced Soldier Thermoelectric Power System for Power Generation from Battlefield Heat Sources

Under support from the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program, we (Hogan, Case, Schock) are collaborating with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Tellurex Corporation to transition the thermoelectric materials developed at Michigan State University into industry and a power generator for waste heat recovery.

Nanostructured Bulk Thermoelectric Materials and Devices

Under support from the Office of Naval Research (ONR), we are developing lead telluride based thermoelectric materials into devices for electrical power generation from waste heat sources. The team includes researchers from Michigan State University (Hogan, Case, Schock, Mahanti), Northwestern University (Kanatzidis), and the University of Michigan (Uher).
